Discover Trogir from the streets and the water
Trogir offers two very different ways to spend a day: following the streets of its historic island city or setting out by boat towards the surrounding islands. The historic city has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. That designation belongs to the old town, while Čiovo and the wider boating area offer a separate coastal experience. Start by deciding how much of your visit belongs on land and how much on the water.
A guided walk suits an arrival day or a visit focused on buildings and local stories. A boat trip suits a day built around island stops and swimming. The tour overview brings the formats together; the individual guides explain their routes and departure points. Keeping those choices separate makes it easier to select an outing that fits the rest of your plans.

Walks and island outings
Choose a guided city walk for local stories or a boat trip for time on the water. The quad activity starts inland on Čiovo.

Sights worth making time for
The main square gathers the cathedral and loggia into a natural starting point for looking at the city. The town hall, St John the Baptist and St Nicholas belong to the wider sequence of historic stops. Continue towards the Riva for a different view of the city, with Kamerlengo providing the fortress counterpart to the churches and civic buildings. The Old Town guide turns these places into a practical walk.
Use that walk as an introduction rather than a reason to rush through every interior. If architecture is the focus, give the cathedral its own attention. If the waterfront is the priority, leave space to continue along the Riva. Each choice produces a more coherent visit than treating every building as an identical stop on a checklist.

Choose your boat route before your departure
The Blue Lagoon associated with Trogir lies at Krknjaši by Drvenik Veliki. It is a swimming destination distinct from the Blue Cave and from the Pakleni lagoon on the longer island circuit. The available five-hour speedboat options depart by Kamerlengo and include snorkelling equipment. For the longer ten-hour island outing, select the Trogir departure option; Blue Cave admission is extra. Read the Blue Lagoon guide before deciding which place you actually want to reach.
Čiovo offers another kind of day. Toć, also called Copacabana, is a pebble beach in Okrug, while Mavarčica and Kava are other mapped coastal locations. The quad activity starts at Franini 35 in Žedno and lasts two to four hours. It suits an inland island activity rather than a beach transfer. For a group planning its own outing, compare the private walks and boat formats without assuming that every route begins at the same meeting point.

Arrival, accommodation and the season
Plan your arrival through Split Airport, identified by SPU, and use the transport guide to distinguish airport travel from excursions starting in Split city. Bus line 37 links Split, the airport and Trogir in the timetable dated 27 October 2026. The Bura Line service ended its season on 29 October 2026 and is suspended from 30 October until May 2027. Build a winter itinerary around the appropriate land connection.
Choose accommodation by the places you want to use. The old town gives a historic city setting; Okrug and other Čiovo locations suit a stay focused on their respective coastal areas. Toć also has a summer evening scene, so consider the particular address if quiet is a priority. For walks and boat plans, consult the season guide: historical regional climate patterns are useful planning context, while the actual marine conditions matter for a boat departure.

This is an independent travel guide with no affiliation to the tourist board, city administration, cathedral, airport or excursion operators.
Should I choose a walk or a boat trip?
Choose a walk for the historic city and local stories. Choose a boat trip for island stops and swimming, then match the route and departure point to your day.
Is the Blue Lagoon the Blue Cave?
The Blue Lagoon at Krknjaši by Drvenik Veliki is a different destination. The longer island circuit also refers to a lagoon near Pakleni, so compare the actual route names.
